Good English and British food is underrated, overlooked and sadly
not fashionable today. That's a great pity because we believe that English and British food is the very best in the world. It will outlast
any of the fads that come and go as trends dictate.

Here at the Bristol Sausage Shop, we aim to celebrate one of the greats of English cooking and in doing so, help to preserve one
of our best and most famous dishes.

The demise of English food has been joined by the demise of
small, local shops ran by people who care not only about what
they sell but also about those to whom they sell. We are proud
to be an old-fashioned type of shop with huge emphasis placed
on offering the very best quality products (all of which we
personally test) from the very best local ingredients and suppliers.
Moreover, you can be assured of courteous, open & honest,
personal, friendly service.

Our sausages are made for us by Jesse Smith's butchers in Cirencester and the award-winning Riverford Farm in Devon,
who also supply our bacon. If you ever get a chance to visit
either of these, then we strongly recommend you do so as the
quality of produce they offer is unsurpassed. We tried over 40 different butchers before we found the right mix of quality, care
and a commitment to use local, naturally fed, "happy" meat,
allied to an understanding of seasonal ingredients. Our
tracklements are supplied by, who else, Wiltshire Tracklements!

The West Country has a peerless reputation when it comes
to the quality of the food on offer and we are proud to be a
part of that. Accordingly, 98% of everything that we buy is
reared, grown, produced or sourced from the South West.

The taste and traceability that that offers both you and us is as comforting to the mind as it is to the taste buds. No worries
about food miles, more like food yards! In fact, the only reason
we buy from outside of the area (only Bury Black Pudding and
Spanish Chorizos) is because those regional specialities cannot
be reproduced to the same quality anywhere else. However, it
isn't just local loyalty that drives us; Wiltshire pork is far-famed
as being the best and both Jesse Smith's and Riverford Farm
have won awards for the quality of their food.

As for Tracklements, we'd be amazed if there is a more dedicated, authentic and inspired producer anywhere in the land.

So, as the mighty Wurzels would say, "drink up thee zyder and enjoy the best of the West!".
